As the other 3 English teams dumped their respective German opponents, Liverpool followed suit by beating Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena.
The two teams went into the 2nd leg after a nil-nil draw at Anfield.
Sadio Mane opened the scoring, turning the on-rushing Bayern keeper and lobbing the ball into the goal. The Bavarians equalized before half time when Joen Matip deflected Sergi Gnabry's cross into his own net.
In the 2nd half, Liverpool regained the lead as Virgil Van Dijk rose to meet a James Milner's corner and beat Manuel Neuer. Sadio Mane capped off the win with another goal, heading in from close range.

Another tie that was on knife's edge after a nil-nil draw in the first leg. However, in the first half, Messi 's spotkick and a tap-in from Coutinho put the home support at ease.
Lyon hit back in the 2nd half, pulling a goal back as Tousart fired low past Ter Stegen. Just as the French team threatened, Lionel Messi put the tie to rest with a sublime goal with his weaker foot. A few minutes later, a couple of tap-ins for Pique and substitute Dembele saw Barca romp home to victory.
